The Nefertiti Building is among the emblematic works of Faget and Figari, completed in 1950 within the great French academic tradition of the great income buildings of Montevideo. Inside, this 504 m ² residence has been renovated to a level worthy of the major European capitals: its 1950 architecture intact, every material and every facility a day.
A private elevator palier gives way to a gallery of art-covered walls under glass lights. An enhilade of reception rooms runs across the front - the main room of almost nine meters - with parquet in the espita of petirií and other rare nobles, deep cornels, carved boiserie and almost four meters of blinds. Each main room has its own firewood home: a white marble fireplace in the living room, a grey marble home crowned by a golden overlay in the dining room, and in the library and music room covered in mahogany, a monumental carved wood fireplace that dialogue with the size of the built-in libraries of the room. The formal dining room welcomes twelve diners. All over the plant, the palette is bold but refined: intense color, overlapping antiques and contemporary design in a safe balance.
Behind the time rooms, the endings are new and without concessions. The kitchen is determined in Neolith of a miraculous vein, with a cascade island, a complete line of Bosch appliances - induction anafe, bell with wifi connection, ovens and dishwasher - the taps are Hansgrohe, accompanied by a pre-kitchen, a breakfast corner and a separate laundry. A single toilette, of great theatality, marks an accent on the floor: black walls, botanical motifs and a sculptural red glass sink.
The three bedrooms are en suite. The master suite combines a private dressing room with a bathroom in black marble and a whirlpool tub; a separate guest suite has a kitchenette and a bathroom of its own; and a third one works today as a studio. The renovated bathrooms are completed with the same demanding criteria - mirror-vein marble, Hansgrohe taps, walk- in showers with rain sprinkler, retrolit mirrors and thermal Towels - and two of the four carry intelligent Roca In-Wash toilets instead of bidet.
Crown the building a large garden terrace on the roof, designed for dinners and outdoor meetings. With full air conditioning, lift and two garages, it is a renewed emblematic residence without concessions, designed to the same extent to receive on a large scale and for good daily living. Residences of this scale, lineage and invoice rarely reach the market of Montevideo.
